Investigating the process of writing through 20 imaginative assignments, this question-based course assists students in defining the relationship between their thoughts, attitudes and behavior -- and in the process, also establish their biblical worldview. Covering Units 1-9 of TWSS, this course will tackle pertinent segments of the TWSS DVDs with specific assignments from the Starting Points curriculum, covering informative as well as imaginative assignments. This course is highly recommended for students taking the Starting Points Worldview class to help complete all the course writing requirements and to meet the credit hours required for Bible, History, Literature and Writing.
Course Expectations: Students who are not familiar with the IEW program will be introduced to it on a faster pace. This is a graded class.
Prerequisites:
Taking the Starting Points Worldview Class is a must, but students who are willing to do extra reading at home and whose parents are willing to help students think through their Biblical Worldview through discussions at home are welcome to take this class.
Teacher Provides: Instruction
Student Provides: Parent/student responsible to purchase "Starting Points: Worldview-Based Writing Lessons", Excellence In Writing by Janet Spitler (currently $29) found online at places such as CBD.
Starting Points required reading list books and possibly syllabus if not taking Starting Points class at co-op class. Notebook, pen, paper.
Workload: Moderate to heavy. Writing assignments are to be expected every week with some additional reading and parental involvement for those who are taking this class separate from the Starting Points Worldview class. Depending on writing skill, a minimum of 2 hours for Starting Points students, 4 or more for non Starting Points students.
