Grade Range: 5-7Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology is a unique course from Apologia Science that seeks to explore the depths of the human body from a Christian viewpoint. Each lesson focuses on Gods unique design of the human body covering everything from DNA and cell structure to the amazingly complex circulatory system. Incorporated throughout the textbook is valuable information about health and nutrition as well as many scriptural and Biblical applications.
This class seeks to inform students understanding of the design and mechanism of the various parts of the body with a systematic approach of the body including, but not limited to skeletal, muscular, digestive, nervous/endocrine and many others.
Along with the textbook material, each lesson is supported with notebook journal activities and various hands-on experiments in class that will help to solidify each students understanding of the complex processes of the amazing human body!
Course Expectations: Students are expected to come to class prepared each week having read any assigned material prior to class. Each person must come prepared with their textbook, notebooking journal, pencils, colored pencils, markers, glue stick, scissors and 3-ring binder each week.
Prerequisites: It is highly recommended that students are able to read and write fluently at the appropriate grade level.
Workload: Homework for this class will be minimal to moderate, ranging from 1-2 hours per week. We will spend 2 weeks on each chapter so as to divide the material into manageable sections. Homework will consist mainly of reading and doing crossword puzzles and various handouts.
*There will be also be a large semester project that will need to be worked on at home. This project will require additional time and attention to complete.
Students Provide: Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology" and the accompanying "Notebooking Journal for Human Anatomy and Physiology" by Jeannie K. Fullbright.
Teacher Provides: Lab materials for student experiments.

Details:Class meets on Monday from 11:00 PM to 11:55 PM
