This class uses the curriculum Growing Up Wild Exploring Nature with Young Children (which is the young child version of Project Wild)
Growing Up Wild is an early childhood education program that builds on children's sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, Growing Up wild provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about nature and lifelong social and academic skills.
Sample topics that may be covered throughout the year are: Spider Web Wonders, Looking at Leaves, Wiggling Worms, Wildlife is Everywhere, Who Lives in a Tree?, Fishing Fun, Owl Pellets, Seed Need, Backbone Bonanza, Wildlife Water Safari and much more.
The children will explore the topics in different ways including: learning new vocabulary words, hands on experiments/activities, art projects, music and movement, centers & extensions, etc.
Course Expectations: Students will learn about nature and wildlife and the world around them in a fun and hands on way.
Teacher Provides: materials for activities and projects.
Students Provide: Positive attitude and willingness to learn; markers; paper; scissors; glue; colored pencils; folder for any handouts.
Prerequisites: Students should be able to pay attention for short periods of time and participate in group learning situations.
Workload: Light to None.

Details:Class meets on Monday from 6:30 PM to 7:25 PM
