Grade Range: 3-6*EXTRA FEES: This is a club and each girl will need a sash as her club uniform. The sash for the olderer girls is $8 for a premade sash. I am also able to order material that can be cut to make 5 sashes if this extra cost is an issue. For $1per student, I can order material and have it and the pattern, to you, the mother, for you to sew yourself. Each badge costs $2.50. Badges are pins made of a nice metal and are worn on the sash to display each girls accomplishments.
Additional costs are:
$8 for premade sash or $1 for material to make your own sash
$25 for 10 badges for the whole semester
For a total (with material/supplies fees): $51 or $44 (depending on which sash you do)
Materials fees include: $18 for activities supplies and $25 for badges. We will collect money for sashes at a later date.
Course Description: Keepers of the Faith Clubs stress Christian attitudes and habits while teaching a wide array of practical skillsskills that are often critical for children who will develop into complete and competent adults. This program will teach and inspire children toward fulfilling God's plan for them. We will learn how to have a consistent spiritual life, how to make beautiful things with our hands, become competent through the knowledge of many skills, become an accomplished keeper at home, and develop a servants heart through learning how to love others. We will take one to two weeks to learn each skill. We will memorize scripture and develop Godly character while learning home, craft and artistic skills.
Some of the things we will focus on and earn badges for, this semester are: scripture memorization, character traits, ABCs, family, grandparents, decoupage, rubber stamping, birds, puzzles, and little readers. The goal is to earn around 10 badges this semester. My hope is to continue this class the following semester as well with new skills to learn and new badges to earn.
Course Expectations and Workload: There will be assignments we begin in class and will work on the following week but may need to be completed or worked on at home in order to earn their badge. There will also be assignments that will need to be accomplished at home, and may require parental involvement and may span over several weeks time. For example: the Family badge is a serving others badge. The requirements for earning this badge are things like praying for each family member, expressing love to each family member, doing kind acts, and drawing encouraging pictures/notes for a period of 4 to 6 weeks. Each club member will keep track of these expressions of love in their club journals (3 ring binders). I will need parents to help with the monitoring of these requirements at home. Having parents initial the journal charts will be helpful and necessary. So expect to have some homework each week.
