This course will concentrate on the behind-the-scene workings for the Drama Class upcoming production of the Spring musical - focusing primarily on producing scenery/sets/props. The students will construct sets and props (light construction, i.e. building, drawing, painting, etc.) for the play and learn the basics of theater make-up, lighting, sound and other off-stage roles.
The students will learn firsthand how the behind-the-scenes of a play functions. Students enrolled in the class will be the backstage crew and will therefore be an integral part the production. Attendance for the dress rehearsal(s) and performance will be mandatory.
Course Expectations: We are looking for mature students eager to participate and interested in working as a team to produce the backstage components needed for a quality production.
