Grade Range: 4-6In this year study of critical events, issues and individuals in United States History from 1607- 1825. It begins with a selective review of
the colonial period and the beginning of the Republic to 1825. The major focus of the year is the development of the Constitution, the impact of the Westward Movement, and the struggles of the Civil War and Reconstruction.
We will examine the impact of economics, politics and social history on the development of the United States. The five themes of geography (location, movement, region, place, and human-environmental interaction) are woven into our studies with emphasis on how geography affected the development of the growing nation.
Fee is to cover materials for class.
No purchase of a book is necessary - We will be using Vol 1 and Vol 2 of The Basic History of the United States - Clarence B. Carson
