This class is set to be a guide for training young people to have the habits/manners that will lead to Godly Character.
Since character determines our response and our usefulness to the Lord, we will look at what it will take to put on the character we need to have in order to put on “good manners.” Since hearing about manners and etiquette is of little use unless one decides to change and to do those things that God expects us to do - we will focus on a foundation for manners and then manners themselves.
This is a class that continues all year, but semesters may be taken independently; HOWEVER, one will gain the most benefit if taking the entire year - IN ORDER - due to the flow of "conversations" we will be having.
This class will be based on Proverbs 4:25-27
We will cover all useful areas that need to be addressed in the world in which we live. Dads will be invited to drop in and speak to the class about specific character traits of a Godly man. For practical application and practice, each student will set goals that they can work on every day at home or at co-op. Students will keep track of their progress each week.
Several resources will be used in the course of this class: Scripture, Christian Character, and "Etiquette: In Society, In Business, In Politics and At Home” - Emily Post.
