Study Skills Course Description: (Fee $20)
Using the textbook Study Strategies Made Easy: A Practical Plan for School Success, students will identify their best learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) and then learn how to help themselves best succeed in planning and studying. This class will cover skills and strategies including organization, time management, improving reading comprehension, vocabulary development, communication, how to study for tests effectively, memorization, and more.
Course Expectations: Students will be expected to actively participate in class, complete the workbook assignments, and maintain and follow a planner throughout the semester.
Workload: Light
Teacher Provides: Additional handouts and activities
Student Provides: Notebook paper, sharpened pencils, A Daily Planner (details to come), and the student workbook: Study Strategies Made Easy by Davis, Sirotowitz and Parker
