This class is designed for guys and gals to introduce Worship/Praise dance as an art form and a form of worship unto The Lord. We will be learning storytelling through dance. We will also be learning how Praise and Worship dance is an effective form of ministry and how to use it to grow in their relationship with Christ. Previous dance experience will be a plus, but not necessary. As long as the student is willing to learn and participate they will do fine. Each student will be required to choreograph their own dance number to perform for the class by the end of the semester. During each class we will work on technique as well as learning different dances. There will be a performance at showcase as well.
Teacher provides: Dance knowledge, technique, music and a brief syllabus for the student to use at home for practice that the student will record in their notebook.
Student provides: Easy to move in clothing (not baggy or multi-layered). For showcase black dress pants and a black t-shirt (LONG SLEEVE-in the winter and SHORT SLEEVE-in the spring) will be required. A notebook is required too.
Workload: Medium (a choreographed routine by the student is required for this class).
Homework: Yes, daily practice is expected. 20 minutes per day is acceptable.
