** This is a full-year course, with the expectation that students will continue for the entire year. **
This class is for those students that would like to learn more about how the camera works and how to control settings to achieve creative and quality images. We will work on learning the basics of shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, and composition. Students will participate in a group, encouragement and critique of their images and will also display matted prints at the showcase in May.
Prerequisite: No previous photography experience is required. But more advanced students are also welcome.
Student provides: Every person will need a camera in class every week as we will use class time for practicing shooting. A camera (DSLR) with fully manual capabilities is required. These are the books that we will use Digital Photography Complete Course by David Taylor and The Beginners Photography Guide by Chris Gatcum.
Expectations: Mainly, students need a desire to learn the art and a teachable spirit! There will be a weekly assignment that will require uploading photos to google drive, as class participation in this is a must.
