This course is a study of macroeconomics presented with a limited government perspective and Biblical worldview. Students will learn about the elements of an economy, the history of economic systems, the interaction of political systems and economics, and economic principles. This course is a multifaceted study that will incorporate significant economic events in the history of the United States, the Church and the Old Testament. Students will develop a greater knowledge and understanding of the content and will be encouraged to develop and articulate their ideas and opinions.
Course Expectations:
Students will complete weekly reading assignments from the textbook.
Students will answer homework questions related to the main text readings.
Students will take regular quizzes and have a couple exams.
Students will participate during discussions in class based on the readings from the previous week.
Homework hours (2) consist mostly reading and answering questions related to the readings. That number is an estimate for the course as some students are faster and slower. Much of the course grade will be homework and class discussion participation, which will be based on the reading. It will be important that the student not only reads the material, but is prepared each week to discuss it. These will help the student to see how and why economics is so much a part of our lives.
