Imagine for a moment that youre in a meeting and everyone is listening intently to every word youre saying and every thought youre presenting. They want to know every thought you think, every idea you have, and every emotion you feel. Okay, back to reality, we dont get that very often. We communicate ineffectively and without the ability to hold attention. Whether the group is big or small, some basic interpersonal communication skills will allow us to learn from others and share ideas in effective ways.
In this class we will learn how people communicate verbally and non-verbally, in big groups and person to person. Not only will we learn for the sake of knowledge, but we will practice these skills with each other. The goal is to be able to understand and use quality communication skills for the rest of your life, whether speaking to the United Nations, your church, your family, business partners, angry customers, or yourself.
Student will be expected to:
Participate in class discussions
