Photo Crafts Course Description
Photo Crafts and Gifts will be a fun crafting class that teaches many different ways to display and gift photos. Photos of friends and family need to be treasured, not just stored away in our computers. This class will transform photos into keepsake memories we are proud to display. We will use our personal photos from home to create memorable projects to keep or give away as gifts. You might even use these techniques to make and sell photo crafts as a creative entrepreneur!
Some of the projects we will create are: personalized photo jewelry, Christmas ornaments, photo collages, photo frames, photo luminaries, photo mini quilts, transferring photos to wooden blocks, photo coasters, photo surprise boxes, and so much more! You will need to come to class prepared with the number of photos printed as directed ahead of time, so you will need a home printer that can print, colored, black and white and sepia toned photos onto quality photo paper. Come prepared so you have photos to work with each week. All photos will become permanently used in each project and not returned in their original state, make copies and dont use originals.
Teacher Provides: I will have most of the needed materials for each project. There may be a few projects that will require the student to purchase items that are the students personal choice.
Student Provides: Home printer, photo paper and photos. You will also need a straight edge cutter of your own to bring to class for trimming photos.
Course Expectations: Students will learn computer skills as they print their photos as well as artistic skills as they creatively turn photos into personalized gifts. This will be a fun class.
Prerequisites: NONE
Workload: Homework will be very light for this class. Come prepared to class with the number of photos already printed out at home. This may mean searching through photo files and albums. You may have to scan original photos into the computer to make them digital for some projects. One project in particular will need to be printed on a laser color printer/copier (I take my photos to Office Max for this project so the ink will not run when wet.) If projects are not completed in class, they may need to be completed at home.

Jewelry Making Description:
If you are interested in learning how to make jewelry and work with beads, but are unsure how, then let this class guide you through the basic skills and techniques you will need to create the most popular styles of jewelry and beadwork. You will learn about the essential tools, equipment, and supplies used for common tasks. Jewelry making and beading are very personal and rewarding crafts. With some basic supplies and a little creativity, you can adorn yourself, and the people in your life, with beautiful objects that communicate your personal sense of style. You may register for this class even if you have taken it before, returning students will be able to work on more advanced projects than the beginner students.
Course Expectations and Workload:
Students will be expected to come prepared to class with their tools. There will be projects we begin in class and will work on the following week but may need to be completed or worked on at home. Students are expected to be respectful of supplies and fellow class members, helpful in cleaning up and willing to try new things. Rarely will there be any homework, unless you have not finished your project in the class time provided.
