Description:

Students will be introduced to artists and composers while exploring different techniques and mediums.  They will learn the elements of art and how to give an art critique while learning characteristics of different art movements.

We will build a notebook of the artists and composers we explore.  At the end of the year the students will have been exposed to a variety of different styles, supplies and techniques which will hopefully foster a love of the beautiful.

We won’t get that many in this year but my goal is that each student will recognize old friends as they encounter them outside the classroom setting.

Biography:

Adrianne has been a teacher since she was in kindergarten and came home to teach her younger brother everything she had learned that day.  (She must have been pretty good too because he skipped.)  More recently she has taught history, art appreciation, English, literature, logic and worldviews.  She and her husband, David, homeschooled their three boys.
