Description:

Welcome to the world of Robotics!

In this hands-on class, your young STEM explorer will begin to learn about the world of robotics using the VEX IQ robotic platform (https://www.vexrobotics.com).   They will build different robots as they learn about gears, friction, center of gravity, robotic claws, mechanical advantage, and torque. The robots will become more complex as the year unfolds.

Students will be in different class teams of 2-3 students throughout the school year. Each team will have a robotics kit and all extra necessary robotics components. Several class competitions will occur throughout the school year with the robots they build and modify.

This class will allow students to learn the mechanical concepts of robotics, STEM critical thinking skills, problem-solving, working in teams, and winning and losing gracefully.

The age range is 7 - 10 y/o, but accommodations can be made for younger or slightly older students depending on maturity.   Come to me with any questions.

Come explore the world of Robotics!
