Description:

Creating Comics is an exciting class for anyone interested in writing, drawing and creating their own comic strip, comic book or graphic novel. Whether the student is an absolute beginner or an aspiring comics artist, this class will get the student enthused to practice their art every chance they get.

The exercises in the class are meant to jump-start their creativity and guide them toward effective ways to tell stories visually. Demonstration and assignments will include: How to draw basic figures, brainstorming for characters, learning how to draw one panel comic gags, using pacing and page turns to enhance the story, understanding the different materials and techniques and ultimately, creating and publishing their own comic book!

This class uses fun exercises to build the student's confidence in their artistic ability and their desire to tell stories through their writing.

A supply list will be provided at the Parent/Student Orientation Meeting.
