Description:

This class uses games as a medium to teach character and life skills. We will explore a variety of individual based and team based games to learn good sportsmanship and critical thinking. Students will be shown practical applications of math, logic, and reading.   We will start the class with a short lesson on a principle relevant to the game we are playing that day, then spend the rest of class looking for ways to use this knowledge in the game. Students will be encouraged to celebrate other’s victories, while being humble in their own. We will analyze what went well or wrong in a game.
Growing up, my Mom told me, “School doesn’t have to be fun, it just has to be done.” While true, this class will be both.

Games we will play in this class:

Catan
Magic Maze
Bocce Ball
Codenames
Card games
And many more!
