Come journey through the New Testament as we discover Gods story together. His story began in the OT with the creation of the world and a perfect relationship with Adam and Eve. People chose to walk away from Him, but God chose to draw them into relationship with Himself. This is an amazing story of Gods redemption. Through History, Prophecy and Poetry God unfolded His plan for a Savior. As we begin the NT, we will see the culmination of Gods plan as Jesus enters the scene. We will explore his life, death, resurrection and his plan to spread his glory to the nations through the Church. We will study each book of the NT using various Bible study methods.
Course Expectations:
This class is for high school credit. The student will be expected to read through the entire New Testament during the school year. The student will be expected to complete assignment each week. These assignments will include Bible study methods, mapping, historical and cultural studies, memory work and practical application. There will also be three large projects for each semester. The student is expected to participate in class discussion. This class is not just about course work. It is my desire that each student would open their heart and learn to love God deeply as they study His amazing Word.
If a student would like to take this course without receiving credit, this is an option but they will not get as much out of the class. The parent must clearly communicate this with the instructor.
Resources:
Student provides:
A Bible that can be marked: (NIV) or (ESV) preferred. (If you need to purchase a new Bible, A Journaling Bible or The ESV Student Study Bible are good options.)
A 3-ring binder.
The student may also need to purchase a book (about $10). I am still reviewing the book to determine whether it will be something each student needs.
Teacher provides: Supplies for projects, maps, timelines and charts.
