Grade Range: 9-12This is a full year geometry course in which students will use inductive and deductive reasoning to study such things as triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, perpendicular and parallel lines. If you are joining our class for the first time, you must be through the first 60 lessons.
Course Expectations: The class will meet for two hours. During class we will review and answer any questions that students may have encountered while doing their homework the prior week. We will also try to cover new material during class. If all the new material cannot be covered in class, then the student will have to cover new concepts while doing their lessons at home. Therefore, it will be crucial for each student to complete all their reading assignments, practice problems, and tests given to the best of their ability while at home. I will make myself available via phone or e-mail to help answer any questions the students encounter during the week.

Students Provide: Saxon Geometry Homeschool Kit (3rd printing, ISBN 9781600329760) pencil, notebook, compass, protractor, basic calculator.
DIVE CD is optional but highly recommended for students who are more challenged in Math and whose parents are not able to give the needed Math support at home. The DIVE CD™s help explain new concepts needed to be learned at home, but also further reinforce concepts learned during the co-op session. DIVE CD™s are $50 new, but may be found for less used.
Prerequisites: Algebra 1. Mastery of this prerequisite will be tested on the first day. Students unable to pass the test will be advised to switch back to Algebra 1.
Workload: Heavy. We will be covering approximately 4 to 5 lessons a week. There will be daily reading assignments and problems to be completed at home. Weekly tests will also be given. Traditional grades will be given for tests along with complete / incomplete grading feedback for homework.
