Grade Range: 2-6Course Description: What was life like in America in 1774? Who is Felicity Merriman? We will read and learn about the historical fictional character, Felicity, and her life in Williamsburg, Virginia, just as the Revolutionary War was starting. We will read through all six Felicity books (at home) and learn about important historical events from our countries past. The goal will be to read 2 chapters a week, at home, while we participate in fun 1774 activities in class. As we gather information, we will assemble a fun lap book, have a tea party, work on our sewing sampler, and create fun crafts. ***The students will also have a research assignment on something pertaining to the time period and present their report to the class. This class is geared toward good readers and the upper elementary student. (No report for the lower elementary class). You will need to check the books out from your library or have your own copies.
Course Expectations: Students will be expected to read two chapters a week on their own at home. They are to participate in class, assemble their lap book and complete a research assignment and give an oral presentation in class including a visual aid.
Prerequisites: Must be a strong reader.

Second Grade girls must be strong readers and have approval from instructor to register. This class will have more work at home than the 1st to 3rd grade class.

Details:Class meets on Monday from 9:00 PM to 9:55 PM
