Material fee for Bo Staff (one-time): $30 (color and size choices needed). Paid separately when classes start for those who need one. Returning students may use the staff they already have, or purchase another.
The Bo Staff is a traditional martial arts weapon that was derived from a farm tool; later turned “weapon” for self-defense. The students will learn the history of the Bo Staff as well as the traditional workings, which include basic movements, blocks, strikes and forms (Katas).
Expectations: students will come to class promptly with good attitudes and fully participate in class activities.
Prerequisite: Enrollment in the Traditional TSD 4-12 grade course is encouraged but not required. New students are welcome through the second week of classes.
Each student will need a Bo Staff. The cost is $30, please pay in advance to enable the students to start class equipped to learn.
