This course is the equivalent of a semester college level Introduction to Computer Science course. In this class we will explore how computers work, how humans interact with computers and gain a detailed understanding of how computers interpret instructions. Students will learn what is entailed in designing object-oriented computer software and implement their software using the a programming language. There will be 3 to 4 hours of homework each week.
Prerequisites: basic computer knowledge (e.g. turn computer on, use USB devices, navigate operating system)
Workload: Approximately 3-4 hours of homework each week
Teacher Provides: Handouts, lecture
Students Provide: Microsoft Office 2016 or later; competent typist or have taken a keyboarding class; laptop with Windows 7 or later or OSX to bring to class
