FY ** This is a full-year course, with the expectation that students will continue for the entire year. **
We will practice moves in several dances, including modern swing, waltz, cha-cha, east coast swing, and salsa. We usually perform a very short routine in the showcase, provided there is one.
We will also learn several line dances in this class.
Where can you use these moves once you’ve learned them? There is a swing dance club that meets outdoors in Farmington Hills in the summer, which would be a great place to practice your moves. There are also many dances put on by The Dance Project throughout the year. There are many places to dance once you know how, so join the fun!
Course Expectations:
Students should have an ability to move to music and a willingness to pay attention and learn. Even if you think you can’t dance, you CAN be taught if you have an open mind and are willing to learn.
Prerequisites: None, this is an entry level class
Student Provides: suede bottomed dance shoes are recommended, but not required.
