The two main objectives of the class are:
1) to make students more comfortable with public speaking and
2) have fun playing acting/improvisation games without stressing over a huge performanceno outside of class commitment! Students also have the option of writing and submitting skits to be performed in class (by them and their friends or by any students who would like to participate).
All activities, except the optional writing of skits, will be done in class.
The most important aspect of this class is that students feel comfortable and have a good time! They will learn to overcome stage fright, become more confident in front of large groups of people, and sharpen their acting skills.
Optional writing component: Students may submit their own original skits for in-class performance. This may be contributed toward their Literature/Composition credit at their parents discretion.
Course Expectations: Students are expected to participate in class with a positive attitude.
